St. Theresa Catholic Parish Galadima Celebrates 25th Anniversary And 275 Candidates Confirmed

St. Theresa’s Catholic Parish, Galadima celebrated its 25th Anniversary on the 24th of November, 2019 and 275 candidates received the sacrament of confirmation. It was a joyous occasion as the ceremony started with the Holy Mass by His Lordship. Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, the bishop of Kontagora Vicariate. introducing the Mass, Rev Fr. Markus Zamani the Parish Priest of St. Theresa’s Parish Galadima thanked God for the journey so far as he welcomed the bishop, the Vicar general Very Rev Fr. Isa Emmanuel Saliu, the religious and all the parishioners, friends and well wishers from both far and near that honored the occasion. Glory and honour was given to God Almighty for watching over and sustaining the Parish by his grace for the past 25 years. His Lordship, began his homily with greetings in different dialects. He  then listed reasons why the day was special: Coming to the end of the celebration of 25th anniversary Catholic liturgical calendar, the of this parish, the confirmation of 275 candidates and the celebration of Christ the King. He further added that those receiving the sacrament of confirmation should allow the Holy Spirit to come into their lives, so that they will be true  Christians, He encouraged them to understand that love is the greatest gift of God, so they should express love to one another in spirit and in truth and allow the Holy Spirit to lead them. During the Mass, some members were rewarded with gifts for  their positive contributions to the growth of the parish. Different zones, outstations, societies, groups, associations, friends and well wishers came out in thanksgiving to God to the altar. After the celebration of the Mass, the second phase was a reception programme, during which groups and societies presented different cultural dances to entertained the invited guests and all present. It was a fun filled event as the celebration was rounded off with a vote of thanks by the Parish priest Rev Fr. Markus Zamani, who appreciated everyone’s contribution to make it a glorious and remarkable event. He prayed that God will continue to bless everyone and grant them all their heart desires and grant them journey mercies to their various destinations.
