Bishop Bulus Ordains Two

It was a day of celebration on the 16th November, 2019 as the Vicar Apostolic of Kontagora Vicariate, Most Rev Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, ordained two deacons to the priesthood. The two were Rev Fr. Ishaya Madaki Joseph and Rev Fr. Augustine Isa Rikoto. At the Mass Rev Fr. Bitrus Sule welcome priests, religious and parishioners from different parishes and outstations, friends and also well wishers to the occasion.

His Lordship, Most Rev. Bulus Dauwa Yohanna, in his homily said, we gather today again with gratitude to God for His blessings  as we mark the celebration of the ordination of two of our brothers as they join us in the Lord’s vineyard.

He added that parishioners should continue to pray for these two young priests. They are not angels, but human  beings like all of us. So let us encourage them and direct them to the right part. The choice of a priest is of God not of men, for being worthy does not imply perfection. He further added that they should not forget that God called them to work in his vineyard and  that they should make sure they do the work that they are called to do.

The occasion which was held at St. Michael Catholic Cathedral, Kontagora was attended by priests, religious and a host of Catholic from across Kaduna, Minna, Lagos, Kebbi and of course, Kontagora Vicariate. After the ordination a brief reception followed immediately for the newly ordained priests, and gifts of different kinds were presented. Shortly after the celebration, they were conveyed to their respective home parishes for the celebration of their first Masses.
